Piercing Expert, Piercing Master & Piercing Brosnan
Complete RagnaKon guide for socketing compatible headgears, upgrading them into slotted versions, applying Brosnan bonus stats, and resetting those bonus effects.
Both Piercing Expert and Piercing Master delete the required tool and the original headgear after a socket attempt. If the roll fails, no replacement item is given. On success, the NPC gives a fresh slotted version of the item.
Brosnan charges 100,000 Zeny before rolling. The script has 36 successful outcomes out of 50 and 14 failure outcomes: 72% success / 28% failure. On the failure branch, the selected headgear has already been deleted and is not returned.

Piercing Expert
Location: itemmall 14,66. This NPC handles only the seven Middle Headgears below. The unslotted item must be equipped in the Middle Headgear slot, and the same item must also be detected in your inventory count.

The dialogue calls these items “Spiritual Awl”, while the current item database names are “Auger Of Spirit” and “[NotForSale] Spiritual Auger”.

Exact Expert Flow
- Talk to Piercing Expert and select one of the seven headgear names.
- Select either the normal Spiritual Awl or the [Not for Sale] Spiritual Awl.
- The matching unslotted headgear must be equipped in Middle Headgear.
- The NPC checks that you own at least one selected tool and at least one copy of the selected base item.
- The script rolls

- Failure: the tool and original headgear are consumed; you receive nothing.

- Talk to Piercing Master and choose Middle Headgear or Upper Headgear.
- Select Attempt Socketing.
- You must have Soul Plunger ×1.

Location: itemmall 16,66. Brosnan only recognizes specific already-slotted headgears. He can apply a random bonus or reset an existing Brosnan bonus.

For an eligible Middle Headgear, Brosnan refuses to enchant if the internal 4th card/enchant field (card3) already contains a value. If it is empty, 100,000 Zeny is deducted and the headgear is deleted before the random roll is resolved.

In the supplied script, choosing Upper Headgear forcibly sets the reset flag (.@reset = 1). Therefore, even if you originally select Apply Bonus, choosing Upper Headgear sends the script into the reset path. As written, Brosnan's bonus-enchant roll is effectively available to supported Middle Headgears, while supported Upper Headgears are handled as reset targets.
Piercing Brosnan — Reset Enhanced Bonus
The reset is available when the selected supported headgear has a value in card3. If card3 is empty, Brosnan says there is nothing to reset.

The script requires at least 10 of either fruit. If you have both, it consumes the fruit with the higher current count; if the counts are equal, the Silvervine Fruit branch is chosen.
Reset Result
Brosnan rebuilds the same item with the same refine level and card0, while card1, card2, and card3 are set to zero. Random options, grade, and other per-instance data are not passed into the replacement item.
